Saplings

Welcome to Saplings

We are a small, nurturing EYFS classroom made up of 7 children, one teacher and two teaching assistants. Our bespoke autism EYFS curriculum is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child, with a strong focus on the seven areas of the EYFS: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

Learning in Saplings is play-based, with lots of opportunities to explore, discover, and have fun. We use approaches such as Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction to support engagement, build relationships, and develop communication skills, which we weave into every part of the day. Independence is at the heart of what we do, and we celebrate every small step as children grow in confidence and self-help skills.

Our children love getting hands-on with messy play, exploring the outdoors, and expressing themselves through creative art projects. In Saplings, every day is full of opportunities to learn, play, and thrive in a safe, supportive, and joyful environment.
