Parents and Families

At Rosebank School, we believe that families are an essential part of every child's educational journey. Parents and carers know their children better than anyone, and their knowledge, experiences and aspirations are invaluable in helping us understand and support each individual child.

We work closely with families to develop a shared understanding of each child's strengths, communication, sensory needs, interests and individual ways of expressing themselves. By working together, we can provide greater consistency between home and school and help children transfer the skills they develop at Rosebank into everyday life.

Our partnership extends beyond sharing information. We work alongside families to support communication, emotional wellbeing, independence, self-care and social development. We recognise that progress for our children is about much more than academic achievement; it is about helping every child to become as confident, independent and connected as possible.

We want families to feel welcomed, listened to, respected and valued. Through our Family Support Worker, opportunities to meet with other families, training, workshops and regular communication, we aim to create a strong community around our children.

Most importantly, working with families ensures that the child remains at the heart of every decision we make. When school and home work together, we can provide a consistent, supportive and personalised approach that gives every child the best opportunity to communicate, develop, achieve and thrive.
